You may be asked to answer a question that your teacher provides or you may be asked to answer a self-generated question. In either case, you should review the assignment requirements and think.
Ask yourself: "What do I want to find out?" You may want to review the assignment and come up with a sentence or two that defines the scope of your project.
Here are some other questions that might you figure out what you want your topic to be:
- What has been discussed in class that I want to know more about?
- What are general topics that are interesting and how could they relate to the assignment?
- What aspect of the assignment fascinates me?
Make your topic something that you will enjoy thinking about! If you are stuck and can't seem to come up with a topic you like and fulfills the assignment, talk to your teacher for additional suggestions.
